A Second Chance to Flourish
CTSS alumna Beverly Wan, Class of 2013 and founder of FriSQUE SG, returned on the first day of school to share a candid story of second chances, personal growth and learning to trust her own path.
Returning to Inspire a New Generation
CTSS began the 2026 school year with a shared aspiration: Every Clementeen will Flourish.
To set the tone for the year, we welcomed back Beverly Wan, Class of 2013 and founder of FriSQUE SG, Singapore’s first acrobatic circus. Beverly was also one of the alumni featured in our collection of 46 Clementeen Stories.
Through her candid sharing, Beverly reminded students that flourishing is not always a straightforward journey. It can begin with mistakes, second chances and the courage to grow into someone different.

A Dream That Took Shape After CTSS
Beverly’s journey towards becoming a circus artist began to take shape after she graduated from CTSS.
Recognising her potential, Ms Valane Tnee continued to reach out and encourage her to attend dance auditions and consider studying dance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Beverly later returned to CTSS to lead dance segments in school musicals and choreograph performances for the alumni dance troupe.
These opportunities gave her confidence not only as a performer, but also as a creator and leader. They planted the belief that she could eventually build something of her own, including her own circus team.

“Because sometimes, dreams don’t start when you finally get it right. They start quietly, even in the messy years, and grow from there.”— Beverly Wan, CTSS Alumna (Class of 2013)
The Power of Second Chances
Beverly is open about the fact that her secondary school journey was not always neat or polished. She struggled with responsibility and developed habits that took years to change.
Yet CTSS continued to welcome her back. To Beverly, that welcome was a powerful affirmation that people can change and that second chances matter.
Her journey reminds us that a student’s story is not defined by one chapter. Sometimes, the confidence to flourish develops gradually through the patience, encouragement and belief of those who continue to see our potential.
