CTSS is proud to celebrate Mdm Emmeline Tay, Lead Teacher for Geography, who was named a finalist for the President’s Award for Teachers 2026.

This national recognition reflects her dedication to helping students develop curiosity, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

In Mdm Tay’s classroom, Geography is brought to life through hands-on demonstrations, inquiry and meaningful discussion. Complex geographical processes become experiences that students can observe, question and understand.

Her signature “Huddle” discussions encourage every student to contribute, listen to different perspectives and build upon the ideas of others. Through these experiences, students grow not only in knowledge, but also as confident thinkers and communicators.

Mdm Tay also creates opportunities for students to investigate authentic issues beyond the classroom. She believes that setbacks and unsuccessful attempts are valuable parts of learning, giving students opportunities to reflect, adapt and try again.

Her influence extends beyond CTSS through her work in mentoring fellow Geography educators and sharing pedagogical practices across schools.
